Grooming

with FREYA

My name is Freya

I've been in the animal world my while life, I've grown up with pets cats ans small furries at home and loved my other families dogs , which led me to go on to learn and get my animal care course in school, then I progressed and got my national diploma in animal management, whilst doing that course I volunteered for 2 years in the grooming parlour at the college, on completion I did the dog grooming course, and from their went on to work for my tutor at her salon for around 6 years, and then branched off to start my own pet grooming business for 7 years.

I have 3 dogs currently, Skye Americn bulldog, Dobby Chihuahua cross, and Boo Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog. Over the years I've gained so much experience handling and working with nervous, excitable, aggressive, wiggly, loving dogs etc.

Grooming isn't just about making a dog look nice and smell pretty, it's a vital part of a dogs life, especially when I have personally found and informed owners of skin irritations, temperament changes, detection of lumps and bumps, that have otherwise gone undetected as I get so hands on withe their dog and am going over every inch of their coat, it's also so vital as a handling aid and to teach a dog, how to behave on a table for inspection by a groomer or vet.

There are many different forms of grooming from nail trimming, to bathing, to full clips and scissor work. I also provide heavy dematting (clipping away pelted coat) again this relieves pressure and helps the owners start again with the coat.

With regular treatments with natural products alot of skin issues can be helped, cured and some even prevented from developing due to not having dirt, matting, dead skin, over greasy/ dry skin or stress causing irritation.
